Terence �Terry� Cunningham has been Administrator / CEO of Shriners Hospitals for Children � Los Angeles since February 13, 2006. He started his career as an US Air Force hospital administrator and then served as vice president at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is also a former CEO for Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston, Texas.
He was born and raised in Southern California and graduated from California State University of Long Beach, with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology. He obtained a master's degree in hospital administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Terry is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on a variety of leadership positions including Chair of the Management Series Editorial Board, Chairman of the Fellowship Advancement Committee and also served as the ACHE Regent for the military, representing over 700 affiliates. He has also published several articles and co-authored textbooks ranging from graduate medical education, information technology, total quality management and strategic planning.
