Philip E. Gates, MD
Assistant Chief of Staff

Dr. Gates joined the staff of the Shreveport Shriners Hospital as Assistant Chief of Staff in 1994. He serves as medical consultant for the Motion Analysis Lab and heads the Cerebral Palsy and Limb Deficiency Service and the Limb Lengthening Team. Dr. Gates has extensive experience in cerebral palsy research, and oversees numerous ongoing clinical research trials. Among these includes efforts to assess the efficacy of botulinum toxin A in children with cerebral palsy.

Dr. Gates is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is currently an associate clinical professor at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
