Joint Commission Right of Notification of Safety or Quality Concern

Shriners Hospitals for Children in the U.S. are accredited by the Joint Commission, formerly known as JCAHO.  Joint Commission standards deal with hospital quality, safety of care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided.  Shriners Hospital in Spokane is committed to meeting Joint Commission standards in all of these areas. 

Shriners has an open door policy, which means that anyone has the opportunity to address their concerns directly with hospital leadership.  Please contact Tom Moerschel, Director of Performance Improvement, to address any concerns. 

If the issue is not resolved by the hospital, you are free to contact Joint Commission directly to raise your concerns:

In addition, Shriners Hospitals for Children-Spokane will have an unannounced survey by the Joint Commission every three years to assess their compliance to the standards.
